5th Ranked Ashland Holds Off Truman

5th ranked Ashland needed 17 three-pointers to hold off Truman for a 96-88 victory at the Drury Thanksgiving Classic in Springfield this afternoon. 14 of those triples came in the first half on 22 attempts. With the Bulldogs up one in the second quarter, the Eagles’ long distance shooting keyed a 26-8 finish to the first half and a 58-41 lead at halftime. Ashland led by as many as 21 with 3:45 left in the third, but the Bulldogs fought back…..

Annie Roshak led Ashland with 21. The Eagles improve to 5-0 and will have a top 10 showdown with Drury tomorrow. Hannah Belanger scored 25 points for her fifth straight 20-point game to open the season. Alex Fanning and Ellie Weltha added 19 apiece. The Bulldogs drop to 2-3 and will play Cedarville tomorrow.
