Governor Mike Parson’s announcement Thursday that the 118th Missouri State Fair will take place this year in Sedalia was welcomed by the ag community. However, with two months to go until the gates open, what the fair will look like is still uncertain. Director Mark Wolfe tells Regional Radio that the livestock shows will go on.

Wolfe adds that entries for livestock contests will soon be accepted on the fair’s website.

Unfortunately, Wolfe did confirm that one major draw for fairgoers will not occur this year.

Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe noted that other Pepsi Grandstand events, including the tractor pulls and sprint car racing, remain undecided. He says decisions could be finalized over the next two weeks.
