RANDOLPH COUNTY COMMISSION VOTES FOR SIGNIFICANT PAY INCREASES

By a 2-1 margin earlier this week, the Randolph County Commission voted to work toward an eight percent pay raise for county employees and a three percent raise for elected officials. The dissenting vote was from Presiding Commissioner John Truesdell, who says that the county is behind, and salaries do need to be addressed.

Eastern District Commissioner Wayne Wilcox says the county is still trying to make up for years when there were no raises.

Department heads are now preparing their individual budgets for 2020, which will then be considered by the commission.
