HOWARD CO. EMD CLARIFIES FEMA ASSISTANCE REJECTION

Over a month ago, Howard County was rejected individual FEMA assistance with near record flooding on the Missouri River. Co-Emergency Management Director Bryan Kunze says the fact the county was rejected individual FEMA assistance indicates limited homes within the county were damaged.

Although the county is not getting individual FEMA assistance, Kunze says they’re likely to get public assistance from FEMA.

Kunze wanted to clarify there are three types of assistance FEMA can give. The first one is individual, which is your residential homes, the second is related to small businesses, and the third is public assistance, which are your roads, bridges, and any public infrastructure.
