MAN TRIES TO AVOID MOBERLY OFFICER BY ENTERING HOME

A man tried to avoid arrest for active warrants by entering a Moberly home that wasn’t his early Wednesday morning. Moberly Police say an officer recognized a man known to have active warrants, Phillip Webb, in the 800 block of East Logan. When the officer tried to stop Webb, he entered a home and refused to leave, but the homeowner agreed to let officers in, where they found Webb in the basement under a sofa. He was found to have methamphetamine and related drug paraphernalia.

Two active warrants were both from Randolph County for possession of a controlled substance, with a combined bond of $10,500. An additional $10,000 bond was placed on Webb regarding new charges as a result of this incident. Webb was taken to the Randolph County Justice Center.
