WESTRAN GOES AFTER A STATE GOLF TITLE

The Westran Hornet golf team begins its quest to collect a Class 1 state title Monday afternoon at Sedalia Country Club. Coach Jeff Schliecher talks about the significance of the team qualifying for the state tournament three years in a row.

The Hornets have never won a golf title in program history, and had the lowest sectional round total out of the eight qualifiers. Schliecher says having experience returning to the tournament is important.

Westran played at Sedalia Country Club a few weeks ago in a tournament and shot a then team-low 324.

Our Scott Lunte will be down at Sedalia Country Club Tuesday to track the Hornet’s results, and potential individual medalists.
