TWO ARRESTED FOR DRUGS AFTER MOBERLY TRAFFIC STOP ON THURSDAY

Moberly Police officers arrested two people after conducting a traffic stop in Moberly. Around 2:15 this (Thursday) morning, officers conducted a stop near the intersection of Rollins and Clark Streets, and made contact with two passengers in the vehicle. During a search, officers found 10 grams of methamphetamine, methamphetamine paraphernalia, and a scale. The two passengers, Jason Roland and Lani Peacock, were both placed under arrest and taken to the Moberly Police Department. During the transport, Peacock admitted to having a smoking pipe on her person, which was recovered by jail staff.

Formal charges against both were issued today in the form of warrants. Roland faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance with a bond of 10-thousand dollars, while Peacock faces a similar charge with a bond of 5-thousand dollars. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol K9 unit assisted with the incident.
