RIGGS DISAPPOINTED BUDGET SUBSTITUTE ZEROED RURAL BROADBAND SEED MONEY

A substitute bill in the budget committee allocated $100 million from general revenue for roads and bridges last week. Representative Louis Riggs supported the move, but the Hannibal Republican says he has a separate issue with the substitute.

A week before the substitute, Riggs introduced a bill to protect rural broadband funding that has been designated for usage in Missouri. Riggs says eight of the 10 worst served counties in the state are located in northeast Missouri.
