Columbia College President Scott Dalrymple announced Tomas Brock as the next men’s basketball coach and Cindy Potter as the interim athletic director when Bob Burchard retires at the end of the year. Brock is the Cougars current associate head coach in his fourth season on Burchard’s staff. The future Columbia College head coach said, “I’m grateful to Bob Burchard for giving me the chance to join this storied athletic program four years ago, and I will take pride in continuing the strong tradition he’s established here.” Brock previously worked one year as the head coach at Hillcrest High School in Springfield after one season as an assistant at Division II East Central University in Oklahoma. Brock starred at Southwest Baptist where he led the Bearcats to an MIAA regular season title and a Sweet 16 national tournament appearance. Potter is Columbia College’s associate athletic director for Media Relations and Compliance. The 2005 Columbia College graduate serves as the vice president of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the 2018-19 academic year. Burchard announced his retirement January 15th. The Missouri Sports and NAIA Hall of Famer leads active NAIA coaches in career wins.
