A LOOK AT SEMIFINAL GAMES AT THE MONROE CITY TOURNAMENT THURSDAY

The Monroe City Tournament semifinal games continue Thursday with the Mark Twain-Palmyra boys and the Paris-Palmyra girls. Mark Twain comes off a double overtime victory versus three seed Louisiana Tuesday. Mark Twain head coach Cody McCann says 3-0 Palmyra will be a tough opponent.

The 2-1 Tigers had three players in double-figures against Louisiana, and were led in scoring by junior Jace Barton who had 20.

Both the Paris and Palmyra girls dominated their respective quarterfinals. Lady Panthers head coach Chris Parsons notes the semifinal features a stellar matchup inside.

Palmyra’s Second Team All-Conference forward Audrey Fohey stands 6’1″ while Paris boasts 6’5″ Tori Hamilton, who scored 20 points Tuesday. Both semifinal winners will play Monroe City in the championship games on Saturday night.
