The two businesses connected to the motel complex are not impacted by the closure.

The letter also threatens legal action if the motel does not comply with the order. The inspection report cited no backflow preventer on the main water line to a second-floor boiler unit, fire doors that did not latch on the east end of the first and second floors, and some incorrect fire sprinkler heads. The only problem still remaining as of yesterday was the missing backflow preventer.Dawn Jackson is the operations supervisor at the Moberly Inn.

Jackson calls this frustrating, saying Eric Brusch, the Environmental Health Services Supervisor with the Randolph County Health Department, and other city officials, have not been cooperative.

The City of Moberly said in a news release it has been working with the motel since May First, but it still does not meet the licensing standards of the Randolph County Health Department. The order to close is effective from 11 Friday morning until it has a valid Randolph County lodging establishment license.
