ANGELL WAS SHOCKED BY THE NEWS OF HER HALL OF FAME INDUCTION

Former Centralia High School softball coach Jill Angell was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame at its Baseball Luncheon in Springfield a couple weeks ago. Angell says it was a sudden honor given she left the varsity program just seven months ago.

Angell elaborates on the shock when she first learned she would enter the Hall of Fame with the likes of former Cardinal Rick Ankiel, the St. Louis Browns baseball club, and late Glendale High School coach Howard Bell.

The 19-year Centralia head softball coach guided the Lady Panthers to four state titles, including three straight from 2011-2013. Centralia later finished a program-best 29-1 in the 2016 state championship season. Angell reveals her career influences.
