FEBRUARY

STATE SECTIONALS:

Glasgow vs. Community girls:

Glasgow’s Madisyn Parks scored a team-high 11 points in her team’s 32-24 win over Community to advance into the state quarterfinals.

Monroe City vs. O’Fallon Christian boys:

Monroe City’s C.E. Talton closed the year with a game-high 19 points for 24-5 Monroe City.

Clark County vs. Bowling Green girls:

Clark County’s Maggie Schutte helped the Lady Indians to a sectional victory with 10 points and several crucial plays in transition.

Cairo vs. Sturgeon girls:

Cairo’s Mackenzie Dubbert knocked down 17 points in her team’s 45-40 win over Sturgeon.

Milan vs. Harrisburg boys:

Milan sophomore Hunter Shaw scored a career-high 33 points in his team’s win over the 5th ranked Harrisburg Bulldogs.

DISTRICT PLAY:

Moberly vs. Grain Valley Semi-Final:

In Moberly’s 48-38 district semifinal win over Grain Valley, Mary Billington hit a trio of triples in the first quarter to get the Lady Spartans out to a 17-8 lead after one quarter. The Lady Spartans never trailed. Billington scored 15 points.

Semi-Finals: (B) Salisbury’s Garrett Fessler, (G) Marceline’s Kenzie Stahl

Finals: (B) Milan’s Hunter Shaw, (G) Cairo’s Mackenzie Dubbert

HIGHLAND:

Quarterfinals: (B) Hallsville’s Graham Moser, Clark County’s Cole Kirchner, Monroe City’s Bryce Stark, Macon’s Jamison Hogsett; (G) Monroe City’s Jada Summers, Macon’s Peyton Milburn

Semifinals: (B) Monroe City’s Bryce Stark, Clark County’s Chandler Bevans; (G) Monroe City’s Delanie Okenfuss, Clark County’s Aubry Boulware

Championship: (B) Monroe City’s Blake Hays; (G) Clark County’s Carissa Bevans

Fulton at Moberly doubleheader 

A pair of seniors on “senior night” Karrlana Kinder scored 14 points in a 61-47 Lady Spartan win over Fulton.

Isaiah Killinger scored 7 points in the Spartans 65-43 loss to Fulton. During senior night introductions, Killinger and his family turned cards around that spelled P-R-O-M-? and a young lady in the crowd said “yes”

Hannibal at Moberly Boys:

Hannibal’s Dezi Jones scored 19 second half points and finished the game with 23 in his team’s 53-38 win over Moberly.

Kirksville at Moberly Girls/Boys:

Moberly senior Taylar Dayton scored six points off the bench. Moberly’s Braedan Wetrich scored 23 points with two go-ahead buckets in the final minute of Moberly’s first conference win.

Monroe City at Centralia Girls/Boys: Monroe City junior Jada Summers recorded her 60th career double-double with 29 points and 11 rebounds.  Centralia’s Peyton Davis scored a team-high 14 points and held Monroe City star C.E. Talton to an inefficient 20 points.
