KINDER AND FLOOD PROPEL LADY SPARTANS TO THIRD WIN

A pair of 20 plus point nights for Moberly junior Karrlana Kinder and sophomore Sydney Flood were enough to propel the Lady Spartans to a 60-49 win over the Hallsville Lady Indians. The Indians started the game with a 7-0 run before Kinder and Flood guided the Lady Spartans with a 16-5 run to end the first quarter. Late in the second quarter, Kinder, who already had a trio of three’s in the game, stretched Moberly’s lead to three possessions on this play.

Scott Lunte with the call on 99.9 The Captain and CentralMOinfo.com. Kinder would finish the game with 23 points, and earning player of the game honors. The Lady Spartans went into the locker room up by 5 and managed to maintain that margin for the second half. Flood finished the game with 21 points, and had a key three pointer in the third quarter to stretch the Lady Spartans lead back to three possessions. Lady Spartan’s head coach Tony Vestal says Kinder’s first two threes were critical to the win.

The Lady Indians had three players scoring double digits. Senior Hannah Stephens scored 15, Hanna Ricketts followed behind with 14, and junior Lydia Loethen scored 10. Despite the loss, Lady Indians head coach Matt Heet says this was the teams best performance this season.

Moberly improves to 3-3 on the season, while Hallsville falls to 2-5.
