Masters indicates the move includes all sports, and Father Tolton and Helias Catholic will share a division when the 13-team conference splits into two divisions for the 2018-19 school year. Masters says participation in the Archdiocesan Athletic Association benefits Father Tolton for several reasons.
The bulk of the schools are Catholic with a few Christian faith-based schools also in the conference. Father Tolton’s Director of Athletics elaborates on the athletic advantages of the conference.
Masters noted positives for activities such as music, fine arts, scholar bowl, speech and debate, and robotics as well. Father Tolton and Helias Catholic will compete with Cardinal Ritter, Notre Dame, St. Dominic, St. Francis Borgia, St. Mary’s, Bishop DuBourg, Christian High, Duchesne, Lutheran St. Charles, Rosati-Kain, and Trinity Catholic.
