Missouri Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn is calling this year’s state fair a success, amid its refocus to exclusively 4-H and FFA livestock shows.

Chinn says maintaining this year’s contests for young exhibitors was important for them to learn valuable lessons best taught in the showring.

Dairy cattle shows begins Friday at the 118th Missouri State Fair and go until Sunday. Dairy goats and four more swine breed contests also take place Friday. The Sale of Champions is set for Saturday afternoon at 1:30.
