MIAA COMMISH LEAVING FOR PITT

Jim Johnson is leaving the top post in the MIAA to direct the athletic department of a member school.
Pittsburg State University President Steve Scott Thursday announced the selection of Johnson as Director of Athletics. He will begin his duties on August 23.
In 2007, Johnson was named to his current position as commissioner of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.

Former Central Methodist University Athletic Director Ken Oliver was one of the three finalists for the job, at Pitt State. In Oliver's first year as the Director of the Texas A&M-Kingsville athletic department, the Javelinas had the best overall winning record in school history.
