The second-winningest coach in Truman University basketball history was the honored guest at the Bulldog golf tournament last Friday. After an afternoon on the course, Willard Sims witnessed the unveiling of the refurbished men's locker room at Pershing Arena, named in his honor.
Sims won 310 games in 24 years, from 1971-1995. His predecessor, Boyd King, spent 25 years as head coach. Sims' successor, Jack Schrader, is preparing for his 16th season leading the Bulldogs. Sims, who is battling Parkinson's disease says, three coaches in 65 years is rare.....
