HOLDEN CONFIRMS ADDITIONAL CHINESE INTEREST IN MOBERLY



Former Missouri Governor Bob Holden says word about Moberly as a place to do business ... is spreading quickly in China. Holden, the Midwest US China Association Chairman, was instrumental in putting the deal together that brought Mamtek to the Magic City:

Holden says the Midwest US China Association is working to bring new jobs to the United States, specifically the Midwest. He says the organization is trying to be a linkage between the people of China and people here. Holden says the Midwest is the only region in the nation with an organization like this:

Mamtek, a producer of sugar substitute, will create 612 new manufacturing jobs and will invest 46 million dollars in the local economy. The facility is being built on County Road 1325 across from the Moberly Five and Drive.

Mamtek received more than 16 million dollars in tax credits and economic incentives. The project was also funded by 37 million dollars in bond sales from the City of Moberly, and another eight million dollars from private investors.
