THOMAS SHINES IN A TRUMAN SWEEP OF THE MINERS

Both Truman teams completed a home-and-away sweep of Missouri S&T Thursday night in Rolla.

Brodric Thomas came up a rebound shy of a triple-double with 34 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to a 96-73 victory over the Miners….

Brad Boyer with the call on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com. Thomas’ 12 assists tied for the second most in a single game and his 30 field goal attempts are second most in program history. Coach Chris Foster said he took advantage of what the zone defense gave him….

Jake Velky scored 17 and Zach Fischer registered his tenth double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. It was the second time this season that both Fischer and Thomas had double-doubles in a single game. That hadn’t happened in seven years. The Bulldogs are on a four-game winning streak that takes their record to 9-5 overall and 4-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. S&T is 2-11.

In the women’s game, Jamie Gleeson hit all five shots and finished with a career-high 11 points in Truman’s 79-59 win at Missouri S&T. Rachel Edmundson led the team with a dozen, Remy Davenport added 11, and Katie Jaseckas had a second straight double-double against the Lady Miners with 11 points and ten rebounds.

When the Lady Miners pulled ahead 31-30 in the second quarter, the Bulldogs responded with a 14-2 run to finish the first half….

Eagan’s Bulldogs improve to 9-3 and 4-1 in the GLVC. Bria Pierce led all scorers with 17. The Lady Miners drop to 6-7 and 1-4 in conference play.

The Truman teams head to Kansas City to play Rockhurst on Saturday. You can hear the doubleheader on Superstation KRES starting at 12:45.
