FULL TEAM EFFORT GIVES PENNEY WIN OVER MACON

What initially looked to be a pitching duel between Penney and Macon eventually turned into a offensive showing by the Hornets as they took down the Tigerettes 8-2 tonight in the state sectionals. The two teams remained scoreless through three innings off good pitching by Macon’s Macey Harrington and Penney’s Julia Kanoy. The scoreless tie was broken in the bottom of the 4th as Macon’s Allison Simons knocked in Peyton Milburn with one out. But in the 5th, the floodgates opened for the Hornets. They would tie it up, then Jaide Herrera came up to bat with two runners on.
